Introduction

In this quickstart we will show you in a few steps how to connect your plants, machines and devices with the IIoT platform graphicx.io. The platform is independent of the machine manufacturer and allows you to bundle all sensor data along your entire process in one place. All data is then available for comprehensive monitoring, evaluation, analysis, alerting, KPI calculations and customized processing.

To start you have to go through these 3 steps:

  1. First, you have to create your device in graphicx.io. We understand a device to be any device that can, directly or indirectly, send data to the cloud. A device can represent, for example an industrial device, an IoT device, an IoT edge device, a mobile device, a virtual device, a software component, an appliance, or a whole plant or machine equipped with sensors. Really anything equipped with sensors, or anything that provides relevant data in some way. For this step you can easily use the graphicx.io user interface.
  2. In a second step, you have to make sure that your device is, directly or indirectly, connected to the Internet and can establish a secure network connection to graphicx.io via one of the available industrial interfaces (MQTT, REST API or OPC-UA). So you have to configure your device accordingly in this step, set up the authentication and thus prepare for the next steps. Here it can be advantageous to involve one of your experts. Do not hesitate to contact us if there are questions in any of the steps.
  3. In the third step you initiate the data transfer. Depending on the selected industrial interface, you define how the data is to be sent to graphicx.io.
